WE BEGAN WITH A SIMPLE ADVANTAGE:
years spent in conversation
Before this was a studio, it was a career shaped talking to locals. Like Lek, a boatsman I met off the coast of Trat, Thailand. He realised I was from the Land of the Lions, where Mandela resided. And as he represented the Land of the Smiles, took to share the story of his small fortune.
He paddled us into the shade of the riverbed and looked toward four riverside villas; explaining, with austerity, how he built them himself on a fisherman’s budget. They were for his pride and joy: his kids.
